Walk #13 Island Trust Fund Nature Reserve

The Island Trust Fund nature reserve is newly designated (2005), and is undeveloped. Enjoy this lovely mature forest on foot only - no vehicles, bicycles or horses please.

The original logging roads and footpaths are unmarked. Pay close attention in order to not get lost or stray on to private land. The surface is frequently rough, with roots, wet areas, and old windfalls.

Park on Windecker Rd. and walk straight off the end of the road through the steep ditch to a path leading around a fenced pasture on your right. Follow the path to connect with an old logging road. Turn left. Watch carefully for the first trail to the left up a slight incline. Walk through the beautiful forest, keeping to the left at trail intersections and you will arrive at North Road. Turn left, return to Seawind Rd. and Windecker. (approx 3 km)
